Ron Legge established the business here in Branch Road, Mellor Brook over thirty years ago. Following a career in the Royal Navy, Ron's interests led him to picture framing where over the years he gained recognition as a Guild Commended Framer. Whilst based in Mellor Brook he introduced Britannia Framing School, which saw many people continue in the industry and open other framers/art galleries nationwide. Under his guidance his daughter Merryl, with him built up a reputation for quality bespoke picture framing and Fine Art. Today the gallery continues under the care of Merryl, and Ron's grandson Matt, who joined the family run business in 2007. Matt's early interest in Photography came as a result of seeing images both framed and displayed here at Britannia Gallery. His most memorable, being a picture of a lighthouse with a wave crashing into it. Matt has brought his own additional touch to the business with 'Matt Connell Photography' having gained experience as a Ships Photographer with P&O Cruises after completing his HND. |

Newspaper Collection Newspapers can be ordered for collection from the Gallery during opening hours. The Lancashire Telegraph is Available in a Morning, but unfortunatly the Lancashire Evening Post is unable to be delivered to us.
Stamps 1st & 2nd Class Postage Stamps are available to purchase during opening hours. note. There is a price increase on the 6th April. |
